Southwood Property, LLC is an organic and forest farm overlooking the Hudson River that is owned and operated by the Perry family.
CEO: Hart Perry has a day job with his wife Dana Perry at Perry Films where they have produced many award winning documentaries. (see website Perryfilms.com) His first job was as a cameraman on the 1969 Woodstock film. He has shot three documentaries that won Academy Awards, made holograms for Salvador Dali on a laser printer he helped invent, and made his first music video for Alice Cooper in 1971.
Farm Manager: Tim Jones participated in 4H in High School, worked for 5 years at Clermont horse farm, and worked with his family on construction. (His dad, Dick Jones is a respected engineer) He has many skills from woodworking to operating heavy machinery. Tim developed the farm business plan for Southwood. He runs the lumber, rental, and hay operation, as well as provides general management.
Business Manager/Gardener/Event Planner: Martha Wampler developed her business skill when she ran her own design business for many years. Aside from business responsibilities and event planning, she is in charge of the vegetable, flower, and herb gardens. Somehow she also finds time to paint, sculpt, and design furniture.
Livestock Manager: Phil Zelph manages the animals -- horses, goats, chickens, and pigs. He learned his trade on his family's farm. He uses electric fences to rotate the animals on hay fields, shrubbery, and forests. In addition he does forestry, firewood, and masonry.
